ITEP have partnered to examine education issues across Muslim communities. This study of over 25,000 participants from fifteen countries explores how secondary school and university students, parents, teachers, and administrators value skills such as empathy, forgiveness, moral reasoning, and community-mindedness. Publicly available for the first time, the research team will present the study’s results and lead a discussion on the implications of this important exploration for advancing education in Muslim societies.We believe that each country should be assuring that all children are educated. Each child has a right to a quality education so they can become who they are meant to be. We never know which children will grow up

In the Digital Competence Assessment Survey for Language Teachers conducted by DC4LT, we look at the attitude of teachers and administrators towards digital technologies in language teaching, what pedagogical approaches are applied or expected to be applied, and much more! At the presentation on May 17, we will share the initial analysis of the survey results and discuss them with the audience.At DC4LT, we analysed a sample of job announcements for language teachers in Europe aiming to identify what digital competences and skills are required by the employers. The results indicate that in the majority of the cases, employers ask for old-fashioned og general digital competences and skills or do not mention such skills at all.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can connect with language teaching to make language learning more open, more enjoyable, and – some claim – more effective. Yet language teachers interested in integrating ICT (more) into their teaching activities face many challenges, which could be met with the help of adequate and flexible professional development. Drawing on recent research carried out by the AILA Research Network TPLang21 and by the speaker, this talk will provide an insightful picture of global language teachers‘ professional development activities. The final part of this talk addresses the ways in which the ICT-REV project at the European Centre of Modern Languages has sought to support language teachers in their individual and networked ICT-related professional development.

DC4LT aims at improving digital literacy and empowering language teachers of all levels to use ICT instruments in their practice. To achieve this goal, the project will explore how teachers are prepared for the integration of information technologies in their pedagogical work, what skills they need in order to better support their online courses, and in what ways they can help their students in the language learning process. Based on the collected primary data, the consortium will develop a self-sustained Open Internet Community of Practice for language teachers / online tutors. Large numbers of language teachers will be invited to participate in the DC4LT training workshops and provided with an opportunity to collaborate with peers in an interactive educational setting of the DC4LT training workshops, thus multiplying the knowledge further.

The office also assists in identifying appropriate funding opportunities and building partnerships and consortia for specific funding announcements.The GEF defines education broadly-including formal, informal, and experiential settings in schools and outside the classroom. It centers on traditional educational topics such as access, equity, and achievement, and also on education as it relates to such global concerns as public health, extremism, and the environment.
